PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce temperature adjustment of a fuser during toner supply control to the minimum requirement to reduce power consumption and suppress an increase in temperature inside an apparatus.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus, which fixes by heat fixing a toner image formed according to an electrophotographic method and transferred to a recording medium to form an image, is controlled as follows: the presence or absence of a toner inside a storage container storing a toner to be supplied to developing means for forming a toner image is detected, and the temperature of fixing means for fixing the toner image is detected; and a warm-up operation of heating the fixing means is controlled in an initialization operation of the apparatus according to results of the two detections.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 |
