An array substrate and a liquid crystal display device. The array substrate comprises an underlayer and a first electrode (1) formed on the underlayer, and comprises a first side (21) and a second side (22) that are opposite to each other. The first electrode (1) comprises a plurality of pixels, each pixel is provided with a plurality of slits (5), and the width of at least one slit (5) close to the second side (22) and the spacing between the slit (5) and another adjacent slit (5) are correspondingly larger than the width of a slit (5) close to the first side (21) and the spacing between the slit (5) and another adjacent slit (5). The liquid crystal display device has uniform gray scales at different positions from one side close to a backlight source to the opposite side.
