Disclosed in the present invention are a method and intelligent mobile terminal for out-of-service communication. The method for out-of-service communication includes the following steps: a first Time Division Duplex (TDD) terminal receives an instruction for configuring a communication mode of terminal device to terminal device (D2D) (101); the first TDD terminal exchanges the uplink time slots for the downlink time slots as a response to the instruction and configures the host device to a condition that fulfills D2D communication (102); with the mode of exchanging the uplink time slots for the downlink time slots, the first TDD terminal searches around for adjacent TDD terminals not being configured to D2D mode and sets up connection after the search is successful (103). With the above way, the present invention enables the intelligent mobile terminals in short range to communicate under the condition of out of service.
