PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for recovering diatoms by expressing a peptide on the frustule surface of diatoms, and further by aggregating the diatoms on the basis of the character of this peptide.SOLUTION: The invention relates to a polypeptide comprising an amino acid sequence selected from the group represented by several kinds of specific amino acid sequences, a homologue or variant thereof, or a fusion protein constructed by linking a fusion partner to the polypeptide. The invention also relates to a method for aggregating diatoms comprising aggregating diatoms on the basis of the character of the polypeptide or fusion protein.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
