PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a "navigation system and a car onboard device" for guiding a user in a manner in which the user can even use a road that is not included in stored map data.SOLUTION: A navigation service client 212 of a mobile device 2 capable of searching for a route including a road that is not included in the map data of a car onboard device 1 is defined as a client to be switched, and the junction and confluence of the route and a guidance route set by a navigation application 112 of the car onboard device 1 are defined as a switching start point and a switching end point, respectively. When having approached the switching start point within a distance Th1, the car onboard device 1 activates the client to be switched and makes it search for a route to a destination. Then, when having approached the switching start point within a distance Th2, the car onboard device 1 switches the display of a display device 102 of the car onboard device 1 from the navigation screen of the navigation application 112 to the navigation screen of the client to be switched for a while until the switching end point is reached.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
