METHOD TO ASSIST WITH THE STARTING OF A MOTOR VEHICLE COMBUSTION ENGINE

The subject of the present invention is a method to assist with the starting of a combustion engine (Mt) of a motor vehicle (V) comprising an onboard network (5) powered by a low-voltage auxiliary battery (6) and by a voltage-controlled DC current source (4). According to the invention this method is first of all initiated when the control electronics (10) of the vehicle (V) are awakened as a result of a specific action performed by a user, liable to be followed by an action of starting the combustion engine (Mt). In addition, this method involves operating the current source (4) in such a way as to cause it to operate at its maximum power for a length of time suited to achieving maximum positive polarization of the auxiliary battery (6) and then, at the end of this length of time, in the absence of any actual command to start, operating the current source (4) in such a way as to cancel the current circulating in the auxiliary battery (6).
