PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem in which a damper composed of a cylindrical container and a piston-shaped cylinder used in a conventional base isolation structure is damaged or broken when a large horizontal shaking occurs and therefore a base isolation function of the reactor cannot be sufficiently maintained.SOLUTION: A reactor support structure hangs a reactor 5 with a reverse U-shape body 22, and therefore, allows the reactor 5 to only swing a reactor housing part 21 in a substantially lateral direction centering a supporting point 22a of the reverse U-shape body 22 even when a horizontal shaking of an earthquake occurs, and causes no impact to the reactor 5. Further, when a vertical shaking of an earthquake occurs, shaking in a vertical direction is absorbed by a large elastic force of an elastic structure 23 formed of a shape larger than a cross-sectional shape of the reactor housing part 21 below the supporting point 22a of the reverse U-shape body 22, and therefore no impact is caused to the reactor 5 and the leakage of a radioactive material from the reactor 5 can be effectively prevented.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
