A balanced globe valve assembly includes a housing having an inlet and an outlet and a cage disposed within the housing between the inlet and the outlet. The cage includes a valve seat and at least one port formed therein. The balanced globe valve assembly further includes a valve member disposed within the cage and coupled to the housing. The valve member is movable within the cage between an open position in which the valve member is spaced from the valve seat and a closed position in which the valve member is seated within the valve seat so that the valve member blocks the at least one port. The valve member has a small opening formed therein to balance the valve member. A method of controlling a flow of fluid through a balanced globe valve assembly is further disclosed. |
