This patent relates to an image processing device, an image processing method, and a program which enable both smooth animation display and higher image quality when no animation is displayed even if the frame frequencies of input and output images are different. Provided is an image processing device provided with: a memory unit for holding image data; a reduction scaler unit for reducing image data of an input image or maintaining the image data of the input image at the same magnification, and holding the image data of the input image in a memory unit; and an enlargement scaler unit for enlarging the image data held in the memory unit or maintaining the image data at the same magnification, and outputting the image data as image data of an output image, wherein the reduction scaler unit converts the resolution of the input image into a medium resolution that is a resolution for writing into the memory unit on the basis of a first image parameter supplied from the enlargement scaler unit, and the enlargement scaler unit converts the medium resolution of a memory-held image read from the memory unit into the resolution of the output image on the basis of a second image parameter supplied from the reduction scaler unit. |
