PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide new means for forming a rugged structure, by which rugged structures of various shapes and sizes can be formed.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing an article having a rugged structure is provided, which comprises: forming a laminate having a first layer containing at least a polymerizable compound and a photopolymerization initiator and a second layer as a resin-containing layer adjacent to the first layer (however, if the second layer contains a polymerizable compound, the concentration of the polymerizable compound in the second layer is lower than the concentration of the polymerizable compound in the first layer); subjecting a surface of the first layer of the laminate to pattern exposure; and heating the laminate after the pattern exposure to form a rugged structure where the exposed part by the pattern exposure turns into a projection.
