PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide novel yeast useful for producing oils and fats from biomass.SOLUTION: The present invention provides Rhodosporidium toruloides IPM33-18 strain (NITE BP-01900) or a gene modified body thereof. The present invention also provides a method for producing oils and fats, comprising the steps of culturing IPM33-18 strain and others in a culture medium comprising a carbon source to accumulate oils and fats in a cultured product, and recovering the oils and fats from the cultured product. The producing method allows the oils and fats to be recovered from a liquid fraction of the cultured product.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
