A submersible oil well pump set having an underground drive conversion device, comprising a control cabinet (1), an underground drive device and an oil well pump (4); the underground drive device comprises a rotary submersible motor (2) arranged in a downhole casing and an underground drive conversion device (3); the underground drive conversion device (3) comprises a housing (32), a screw (34) and a push-pull rod (35); a nut (36) cooperated with the screw (34) is arranged inside the push-pull rod (35); an axial slideway (33) is provided on the inner wall of the housing (32) of the conversion device; the push-pull rod (35) can reciprocate axially in the housing; one end of the screw (34) is connected with a motor shaft of the submersible motor (2); one end of the push-pull rod (35) is connected with a plunger (42) of the oil well pump (4); the control cabinet (1) provides a power supply commutating phases according to setting frequency for the submersible motor (2); the underground drive conversion device (3) converts the left and right-handed rotation alternating rotary force generated by the submersible motor (2) into linear reciprocating force to drive the oil well pump (4) to operate.
