<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for simply manufacturing unsymmetrical tertiary alcohol having an annular skeleton in high yield without using a high toxicity metal compound. <P>SOLUTION: The unsymmetrical tertiary alcohol shown in formula (5) is generated by making a ketone intermediate by adding a liquid including a specific organometallic compound at a speed of 0.01-0.5 equivalence/time into a liquid including an acid halogen compound having an annular skeleton, and, in addition, by reacting the specific organometallic compound with the intermediate. In the formula, the ring Z shows a nonaromatic or aromatic ring of a monocyclic or multiple ring.
