The present invention relates to the technical field of information identification. Disclosed are a fingerprint identification method and apparatus, and a mobile terminal, so as to solve the problem of how to reduce the power consumption of the mobile terminal while collecting fingerprints in time. The method in an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a mobile terminal determines a first fingerprint identification region of a touchscreen according to a first user interface, and detects a touch operation on the touchscreen by a user; when a touch position corresponding to the touch operation is located in the first fingerprint identification region, the mobile terminal activates a fingerprint identification function of the first fingerprint identification region, and acquires corresponding first fingerprint information according to the touch operation; and when the first fingerprint information matches with preset fingerprint information, the mobile terminal executes at least one function. The solution provided in embodiments of the present invention is suitable for being used when fingerprints are identified. |
