<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser beam machining system and a laser beam machining method which achieve simple apparatus constitution, and enable the apparatus to be easily controlled. <P>SOLUTION: An in-line machining system 1 includes a front roller 21 and a servo motor 21b for feeding a machining-object paper sheet W in the feeding direction X by the quantity corresponding to control information, a laser beam irradiation unit 31 for irradiating the machining-object paper sheet W with laser beam, and an irradiation position changing unit 32 for moving the laser beam irradiation position of the laser beam irradiation unit on the machining-object paper sheet W in the feeding direction X and the depth direction Y by changing the laser beam irradiation direction from the laser beam irradiation unit 31.
