A liner 74 of a combustor wall assembly generally defines a combustion chamber 66 and includes a film cooling circuit 116 having a channel 122 communicating through a hot face 104 of a substrate 100 of the liner 74. An aperture 118 of the circuit 116 is defined by the substrate 100, extends through the cold face 106 and is in fluid communication with the channel 122. The hot face 104 of the substrate 100 is covered with a coating 102 that extends over and thus defines in-part the channel 122. A film cooling hole 120 extends through the coating 102 and is in fluid communication with the channel 122. A method of manufacturing the circuit includes casting the substrate 100 with the aperture 118 and hole 120; then placing an insert 144 into the channel 122 prior to application of the coating 102 over the substrate 100 and insert 144. The insert 144 is then removed and the film cooling hole 120 is formed through the coating 102. |
