The invention relates to a precipitation sensor, in particular hail sensor, which comprises a baffle element (2) and a transducer (3) for registering vibrations which are brought about by at least one particle of precipitation striking against the baffle element (2), and to a device (4) for evaluating electrical signals generated by means of the transducer (3). According to the invention, the evaluation device (4) is provided to separately evaluate the signals, which the transducer (3) generates in successive measuring time intervals (M1, M2, M3) after the striking, in order to determine a kinetic energy of the particle of precipitation. The invention furthermore relates to a method for detecting a particle of precipitation. |
