<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage type water heater capable of easily confirming the existence or non-existence of damage to a vacuum heat insulating material incorporated in a shaped heat insulating material for thermally insulating a hot water storage tank, and to provide a method of manufacturing the shaped heat insulating material. <P>SOLUTION: The storage type water heater includes the hot water storage tank 1, the shaped heat insulating materials 16, 17 covering an outer side of the hot water storage tank 1, and the vacuum heat insulating material 13 incorporated in the shaped heat insulating materials 16, 17, wherein the shaped heat insulating materials 16, 17 have confirming sections (hole sections 18b, 18c) to expose a part of the incorporated vacuum heat insulating material 13, so that a part of the vacuum heat insulating material 13 can be visually confirmed from the confirming sections. The existence or non-existence of expansion of the vacuum heat insulating material 13 occurred when the vacuum heat insulating material 13 is damaged can be confirmed from the confirming sections. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
