A printhead includes actuating elements 110 for ejecting fluid, and a drive circuit 100 for selectively applying a drive waveform having several slopes, to an actuating element 110; the printhead has a lesser sensitivity to changes of slew rate in one slope of the drive waveform than a sensitivity to change in another; the drive circuit 100 has a variable resistance circuit 120 and a control circuit 130 to control the variable resistance circuit 120 to adjust a slew rate of the first slope according to a trim signal. The first slope is preferably the slope that has lesser sensitivity to changes in slew rate. A method of operating a printer using a trim signal to overcome distortions is also disclosed. |
