915,864. Suction cleaners. ELECTROLUX Ltd. March 26, 1959 [April 1, 1958], No. 10570/59. Class 8(1). A suction cleaner comprises a casing 11, Fig. 5, to which is fixed an end ring 22 and an end cover 12 which is pivoted to the end ring. The end ring is secured to the top of the casing by screws 29 and at the bottom by screws 69 which pass through a portion 64 of the ring. The portion 64 is of convex shape at the front and of concave shape at the back to provide a groove 65 having apertured end members 66, Fig. 7. The cover is provided with a pair of apertured elements 80 positioned close to the ends 66 and pins 82 with heads 83 are passed through the apertures on the inside towards the outside to provide the pivot for the cover. The screws 69 for fixing the ring 22 prevent the inward movement of the pins. The casing is provided with a handle 15, Fig. 3, a front wheel 16 and two rear wheels 17, while a stabilizing member 75 prevents the cleaner from falling over when moved. The stabilizer is of greater width than the distance between the inner sides of the wheels 17 and the sides 75a cover the outer ends of the pins 82 as best shown in Fig. 7.
