A fabric to be coated with rubber for making inflatable articles consists of two plies 11, 12 woven from shrinkable warp and non- shrinkable weft and interconnected by warp threads 13 floating between the plies and interwoven with the upper and lower plies alternately. When the fabric is shrunk, the threads 13 allow the plies to be separate as shown. The shrinkable yarns may be polyvinyl chloride monofil or multifilament yarns or may be plied yarns as described in Specification 661,074. The non-shrinkable yarns may be nylon or cotton. |
