PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the possibility of the reduction of a cleaning effect, in an image forming apparatus in which a constant current is made to flow between a transfer belt and a cleaning member by constant current control.SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes a constant current source 20 making a current Ic flow between an intermediate transfer belt 11 and a brush roller 45a, an image forming speed control part 311 switching a speed for moving the intermediate transfer belt 11 between a first moving speed and a second moving speed lower than the first moving speed, and a cleaning speed control part 312 driving the brush roller 45a, so that the relative speed of the second peripheral surface of the brush roller 45a to the intermediate transfer belt 11 becomes a first relative speed, when the moving speed of the intermediate transfer belt 11 is the first moving speed and driving the brush roller 45a, so that the relative speed of the second peripheral surface of the brush roller 45a to the intermediate transfer belt 11 becomes a second relative speed higher than the first relative speed, when the moving speed of the intermediate transfer belt 11 is the second moving speed. |
