Systems, methods and computer program products for fax delivery and maintenance

This disclosure is directed to systems and methods for the delivery and maintenance of faxes where the faxes may remain at a faxing system for a minimal amount of time. The faxing system may send a queued fax to a connector responsive to a request from the connector to pull or retrieve a fax. The connector is configured to send a release notification to the faxing system after the fax is received. The faxing system is configured to delete the queued fax as soon as confirmation of the delivery of the fax can be determined or when an expiration time has elapsed.

1. A method, comprising:
receiving, by a content delivery system, a request from a fax connector to pull or retrieve a queued fax previously identified by the content delivery system as being associated with the fax connector, the content delivery system running on one or more server machines each having a processor and non-transitory computer memory; sending, by the content delivery system responsive to the request from the fax connector, the queued fax to the fax connector, the queued fax comprising a document in a data store and a job item in a queue maintained by the content delivery system; receiving, by the content delivery system, a release notification originating from the fax connector that confirms a successful delivery of the queued fax to the fax connector; and responsive to the release notification sent by the fax connector, deleting the queued fax from the content delivery system.
