The present invention relates to a hybrid direction detection apparatus and a method thereof capable of: accurately detecting a direction with one rotation of a log period (LP) antenna and one phase difference measurement of a dipole antenna by finding an approximate direction by using the LP antenna, which is a directional antenna, and accurately measuring a phase difference of an arrived radio wave by using two base lines including two dipole antennas at a corresponding direction, to find a final direction; removing ambiguity errors of the LP antenna by two dipole antenna having a distance about 0.5λ.
