The present invention relates to an indexable cutting insert for milling a root part between two corks of a cork wheel. The indexable cutting insert comprises an upper surface, a bottom surface, a lateral surface, a first curved cutting blade, and a second curved cutting blade. The upper surface and the bottom surface form the surface of a chip. The lateral surface connects the upper surface with the bottom surface to form an extra surface. The first curved blade and the second curved blade are formed on a crossing part between the upper surface and the lateral surface to mill the root part between the two corks. The cutting blades each have a peak point, and the cutting insert has a double rotation symmetrical shape. A purpose of the present invention is to provide the indexable cutting insert allowing the corks of the cork wheel to be milled with a desired degree of precision. To this end, the bottom surface further comprises a first plane meeting section, a second plane meeting section, a first groove, a second groove, a first stop section, and a second stop section. The first groove is extended from the first meeting section along an axial line in parallel with an imaginary line connecting the peak points of the first cutting blade and the second cutting blade. The second groove is extended from the second plate meeting section along an axial line in parallel with an imaginary line connecting the peak points of the first cutting blade and the second cutting blade. The first stop section is extended while traversing the imaginary line and the second stop section is extended while traversing the imaginary line. Furthermore, a cutting insert where the first stop section protrudes above the first plane meeting section, and the second stop section protrudes above the second plane meeting section is suggested to be designed. |
