PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust gas treatment device for a diesel engine, and a combustible gas production catalyst, capable of suppressing thermal damage to the combustible gas production catalyst when it is tilted.SOLUTION: In an exhaust gas treatment device, a combustible gas production catalyst 8 is accommodated in a combustible gas production catalyst chamber 7, an air-fuel mixing chamber 9 is formed in an upper end portion of a combustible gas producer 1, and air 10 and a liquid fuel 11 are supplied to the air-fuel mixing chamber 9 to prepare an air-fuel mixture 12 of the air 10 and the liquid fuel 11 in the air-fuel mixing chamber 9. The air-fuel mixture 12 is supplied from a lower end of the air-fuel mixing chamber 9 to a catalyst inlet 13 on an upper center portion of the combustible gas production catalyst 8 to produce a combustible gas 2 by the combustible gas production catalyst 8. When flowing out the combustible gas 2 from a catalyst outlet 8b on a lower end of the combustible gas production catalyst 8, the combustible gas production catalyst chamber 7 and the combustible gas production catalyst 8 are formed to have a narrow-bottom shape, thus the combustible gas production catalyst 8 is fitted into the combustible gas production catalyst chamber 7. |
