The invention relates to a card connector, and the thickness of a portion, of a housing, used for supporting a contact terminal can be reduced, and a thin type card connector is achieved. The card connector (1) is provided with a card media accommodating part (14) for the insertion of a card media, and the card media accommodating part (14) is arranged between the housing (10) which is provided with an open window (16) penetrating the housing (10) in the thickness direction and a shielding case (20) which covers one surface of the housing (10). The open window (16) is provided with a contact terminal (40) which is arranged towards the insertion direction of the card media, and a substrate (50) is opposite to the open window (16) of the housing (10). The contact terminal (40) is provided with a contact portion (41), a basal end portion (42) fixed on the housing (10) and a front end portion (43), and the central part of the contact portion (41) in the long edge direction is contacted with the card media inserted into the card media accommodating part (14). The housing (10) is provided with a protective portion (18) which covers the front end portion (43) of the contact terminal (40) from the side of the card media accommodating part (14). |
