An embodiment of the present invention relates to a card reader module which comprises: a reader unit initiating communications with an IC card inserted into the card reader module; an application selection unit selecting a card application for performing payment among at least one card application supported by the IC card; an application transaction initiation unit transmitting a transaction initiation command to the IC card when the card application is selected; an application data detection unit acquiring data on card information necessary for performing payment via the selected card application; and a payment information processing unit acquiring payment request information including information on an amount being paid from a point at which the data on card information is acquired to initiate card authentication and payment approval processing. According to the present invention, while a user performs an amount input or a signature input, a payment is being processed between the card reader and the IC card, thereby shortening a waiting time of the user in payment using the IC card.
