The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for receiving preambles of a base station with a 4x4 MIMO antenna. In particular, the method for receiving preambles of a base station with a 4x4 MIMO antenna according to an embodiment of the present invention may comprise: a random access channel (RACH) tone generating step of applying Fourier transform to an RACH signal received from a terminal by each antenna to generate the RACH tone per antenna; an inverse Fourier transform step of setting up input-output gains for fixed-point operation, and performing an inverse Fourier transform after applying constant amplitude zero auto correlation (CAZAC) sequence and sub carrier mapping to the RACH tone; a similar electricity calculating step of calculating similar electricity for a time domain signal generated in the inverse Fourier transform; a gain compensating step of compensating the similar electricity in a relative size to the input-output gains set up per antenna, and generating the relative power of the time domain signal; and an index detecting step of extracting a peak value from the relative power generated per antenna, and detecting a preamble index of a random access channel signal. The present invention is designed to provide an apparatus and a method for receiving preambles of a base station with 4x4 MIMO which can simplify the operation for receiving preambles. |
