The present invention relates to an energy storage system, and more specifically, to an energy storage system and an operating method thereof. The present invention automatically resisters and operates a device identifier which identifies the connected device when a new device is connected to an energy storage system, analyzes usage information of the device connected to the energy storage system, generates an optimization algorithm, charges and discharges a battery, and are capable of scheduling based on priority and remotely controlling the device. According to the present invention, the energy storage system comprises: a smart watt-hour meter (600) which calculates an amount of electricity used for each user device as an amount of electricity used; a smart grid (700) which requests an energy storage system (100) for a remote control in compliance with a power demand for each user device according to the amount of used electricity calculated by the smart watt-hour meter (600); and an energy storage system (100) which measures an amount used for each user device (500), sets priority for each of the device, and performs the remote control requested from the smart grid (700) with a scheduling based on the amount used for each user device and the set priority. |
