发明名称 Network resource monitoring and measurement system and method
摘要 A method and system for analysing and measuring multiple sources of data over a communications network (18) so as to ascertain information or usage of one or more resources, such as resource servers (2). A data collection and processing means (20) collects and processes the data sources which are forwarded to a reporting server (34) as a combined data source made available to interested parties.

主权项 1. A method to analyze presentation of electronic network media content, the method comprising: obtaining, from an electronic server communicatively coupled to the electronic network, first measurement data representing a number of first users downloading a monitored media content, the first measurement data comprising panelist data generated by measurement code present on each of a plurality of panelist computers communicatively coupled to the network, the first measurement code present on each of the plurality of panelist computers prior to their respective downloading of the monitored media content; obtaining, from an electronic server communicatively coupled to the network, second measurement data representing a number of second users downloading the monitored media content, the second measurement data comprising site-centric data generated by measurement code embedded in the monitored media content as downloaded by the second users; obtaining, from an electronic server communicatively coupled to the network, third measurement data representing a number of third users downloading the monitored media content; scaling, by at least one electronic processor, the first measurement data for the monitored media content based on a weighting factor to determine a first estimate of a size of an audience of the monitored media content; dividing, by at least one electronic processor, the first estimate of the size of the audience of the monitored media content by a size of the audience of the monitored media content determined from the second measurement data for the monitored media content to determine an error rate; scaling, by at least one electronic processor, the third measurement data for the monitored media content based on the weighting factor to determine a second estimate of a size of the audience of the monitored media content; multiplying, by at least one electronic processor, the second estimate of the size of the audience of the monitored media content by the error rate to determine a size of the audience of the monitored media content; generating a human-readable report including the size of the audience of the monitored media content; and providing the report.
