A mobile terminal comprising: a first antenna element disposed in proximity to a first side of the mobile terminal; a second antenna element disposed in proximity to a second side of the mobile terminal, the second side being opposite to the first side; a third antenna element disposed in proximity to a third side of the mobile terminal, the third side being between the first side and the second side; a switch that includes a first connection mode in which the first and second antenna elements are feed elements and the third antenna element is a parasitic element, and a second connection mode in which the first and third antenna elements are feed elements; a circuitry configured to set the switch to the first connection mode when the mobile terminal is in a portrait orientation mode, and to the second connection mode when the mobile terminal is in a landscape orientation mode; and a temperature sensor configured to detect temperature of a user and to output a result of the detection to the circuitry, wherein the circuitry is configured to determine whether the mobile terminal is in the portrait orientation mode or the landscape orientation mode in accordance with the output of the temperature sensor.
