The present invention relates to a steel for a hydraulic brake rod with excellent hardenability. The steel of the present invention comprises: 0.35-0.50 wt% of C, 0.60-1.00 wt% of Si, 0.010 wt% or less of P (exclusive of 0), 0.008 wt% or less of S (exclusive of 0), 0.90-1.20 wt% of Mn, 1.00-1.50 wt% of Cr, 0.05 wt% or less of Mo (exclusive of 0), 0.015-0.050 wt% of Al, 0.010-0.050 wt% of Ti, and the remainder consisting of Fe and inevitable impurities. The steel of the present invention by the same configuration contains a chemical component which is appropriate for a quenching and tempering process by having excellent hardenability, and manufactures a rod product for a final hydraulic brake from a circular rod constituted with the same steel. |
