USE OF HOXB5 FOR DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT OF BREAST CANCER

The present invention relates to a composition for treating breast cancer, containing an inhibitor of homeobox B5 (HOXB5) gene as an active ingredient, or to a diagnostic composition using the same. The use of HOXB5 as a diagnostic marker for breast cancer can lead to diagnosis of estrogen receptor-positive breast cancer which counts for 50-80% or more of the entire breast cancer patients. Thus, it is anticipated that the composition of the present invention can be applied in early detection of breast cancer and also to effective treatment and diagnosis as well.
