Disclosed are a secondary battery and a manufacturing method thereof. An objective of the present invention is to provide a secondary battery. The secondary battery comprises: a bare cell comprising an electrode assembly having a positive plate, a negative plate, and a separator disposed between the positive plate and the negative plate, an electrode tab having a positive tab and a negative tab which are withdrawn from the positive plate and the negative plate, respectively, and a case to accommodate the electrode assembly; and a protective circuit module installed on the outside of the case, and provided with a protective circuit board and a first and a second terminal installed on the protective circuit board and electrically connected to the positive tab and the negative tab. The positive tab and the negative tab are soldered to the first terminal and the second terminal, respectively. A solder layer is formed on both sides of the positive tab affixed to the first terminal, and a solder layer is formed on at least one among the second terminal and the negative tab. |
