The installation (1) has a laser device (9) to produce a laser beam for marking objects (2). An optical determining unit (13) determines position of each object along a direction transverse to running direction (D) of the objects, and is placed upstream of a marking station (7) relative to the running direction. A displacement unit displaces a focusing plane of the beam with respect to the running direction. A unit (21) driving the displacement unit is connected to the determining unit and adjusts the focusing plane based on the position of each object. An independent claim is also included for a method for marking a transparent or translucent object horizontally and successively running in front of a marking station, at an exit of a forming machine. |
