The present invention provides a dehumidifier comprising: a case having an air inlet and an air outlet; a heat exchanger which is disposed in the case and through which air sucked from the air inlet passes; a first water tank disposed in the case; a second water tank disposed in the case; a first water passage guiding condensed water fallen from the heat exchanger to the first water tank; a second water passage guiding condensed water fallen from the heat exchanger to the second water tank; a first valve which opens and closes the first water passage; a second valve which opens and closes the second water passage; and a control unit controlling the first and the second valve, thereby minimizing the frequency of emptying the water tank and facilitating drainage of the water tank.
