The present invention relates to a content providing system based on the recognition of a beacon signal. According to the present invention, a service server providing content based on a location of a user terminal comprises: a location information confirmation unit which receives location information from a beacon terminal and confirms whether the beacon terminal enters one of preset areas; a beacon request transmission unit which transmits, when the beacon terminal enters one of the preset areas as a result of the confirmation, a beacon output request so that the beacon terminal outputs a beacon signal within a local area; an access information reception unit which receives, from the user terminal, access information transmitted in accordance with the recognition of the beacon signal outputted from the beacon terminal; a content extraction unit which extracts content information to be transferred to the user terminal based on the received access information; and a content providing unit which provides the extracted content information to the user terminal through a network. |
