The present invention relates to a cable comprising an insulating or outer protective layer with low smoke release index, more specifically, the present invention relates to an electric and/or telecom cable. The cable comprises at least one insulating layer and/or at least one outer protective sheath (or at least one layer of performing a dual function of insulating and protective sheath), which is obtained from a crosslinkable organic silicon rubber composition. The crosslinkable organic silicon rubber composition comprises at least one crosslinkable organic silicon polymer, at least one inorganic filler, at least one platinum-based compound and magnesium oxide, wherein the amount of the inorganic filler is less than or equal to 50 wt%, and the amount of the magnesium oxide (MgO) is 1 wt% to 3wt%. |
