The present invention relates to an apparatus for measuring a tooth shape and a method thereof, which scan a plurality of objects at once regardless of positions, discriminate and recognize each of the objects, and generate a plurality of separated shape data sets to generate a tooth model, thereby capable of freely arranging the objects to discriminate the shape of each element regardless of positions of the objects, largely reducing scan consuming time to rapidly acquire data, and rapidly separating the shapes and generating the tooth model to reduce tooth model generation time. The present invention comprises: a scanner scanning at least one object; an image processing unit processing an image input from the scanner to generate scan data with a predetermined format; and a shape acquiring unit analyzing the scan data to recognize a tooth area and discriminating the shape of the object to generate shape data, wherein the shape acquiring unit discriminates and recognizes the objects in the case that the objects are included in the scan data, thereby separating the shapes to generate the shape data sets for the objects. |
