The present invention relates to a ballast water filtering device having an improved backwash function. The ballast water filtering device comprises a housing having in inlet part and an outlet part for letting the ballast water of a ship move in and out, a filter part positioned inside the housing to filter the ballast water introduced through the inlet part, and an automatic washing part for washing the debris attached to the filter part. The automatic washing part comprises a suction part including a flushing arm for suctioning backwash water including debris attached to the filter part, a discharge part which accommodates one part of the suctioning part and discharges the backwash water suctioned by the suctioning part to the outside of the housing, a driving part positioned on the outside of the housing for providing power, and a driven part for mechanically rotating the suctioning part by receiving the power of the driving part. Thereby, the suctioning part can be rotated by the driven part, and by rotating the flushing arm of the suctioning part in the mechanical way, the rotation of the flushing arm can be accurately controlled. By using a horizontal part of a wing to control the time during a stop condition, the efficiency of backwash can be improved. Moreover, by using the horizontal part to stably maintain the stop condition, the rotation of the flushing arm can be accurately controlled. |
