A reclining chair has two enantiomorphous mechanisms fixed to a seat 2 and leg rest 3 so that they are raised or lowered by moving the back 1 rearwardly or forwardly. The back 1 is pivotally connected by arm 5 to a lug 7 on the fixed frame 4 and at 9 by the appendix 8 of the arm 5 to the seat 2; the leg-rest 3 is pivotally connected at 23 to the seat 2 by the U-shaped part 22 of the plate 20 and the cranked member 14 is pivotally connected to the fixed frame 4 at 15. The connecting rods 11, 17 and 17<SP>1</SP> are pivotally connected at their extremities to members 5 and 14, 20 and 14 and 19 and 14 respectively. |
