A die case capable of holding a tapered wire draw nib (2), which has an outer diameter (d2) on the exit side of a die hole (8) that is smaller than the outer diameter (d1) on the entrance side, in a tapered fitting hole (12) tapering in the same direction as the taper of the nib (2), wherein at least a cylindrical core section forming the tapered fitting hole (12) is formed using a forming material which has either an equivalent linear expansion coefficient to or a smaller linear expansion coefficient than that of the forming material of the nib (2). Consequently, displacement of the nib toward the exit side in the wire drawing direction is prevented, thereby allowing the die case to be used in finishing. Furthermore, the nib can be readily and reliably replaced. |
