The present invention relates to a mobile terminal, which can output various kinds of information and perform functions at the same time while releasing lock in response to a command for releasing a locking screen of a touch screen and a control method thereof. Concretely, the present invention relates to a mobile terminal including: the touch screen for simultaneously recognizing touch points of multiple spots; and a control unit, if receiving a touch pattern for releasing the lock via the touch screen, releasing the locking state of the touch screen and outputting a predetermined screen, wherein the touch pattern is predetermined corresponding to the number of the simultaneously recognized touch points. |
