A display device is disclosed. The display device according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a first communications unit which communicates with a server; a second communications unit which communicates with an external device; a display unit which displays a message received from the server through the first communications unit; and a control unit which controls the second communications unit to transmit a signal turning on the external device to the external device when a user command is inputted in response to the displayed message.
