Wings are provided on mold components and linear ways are provided below these wings. A pad rides on each linear way below each wing. A force generator, such as a spring, is disposed between each wing and underlying pad. In this way the weight of the mold components is borne, at least in part, by the linear ways so that the weight on components that might otherwise sag is lessened.

1. A mold assembly for use in a molding machine comprising:
an ejector box having a plurality of guides, said ejector box defining at least one ejector box linear way; a cassette having at least one cassette plate extending within said ejector box and supported on said guides, each cassette plate for supporting a mold piece, each cassette plate having at least one cassette plate support member extending over one said ejector box linear way; at least one pad riding on each said ejector box linear way such that there is a pad below each cassette plate support member; and a force generator disposed between said cassette plate support member and said pad below said cassette plate support member.
