A purpose of the present invention is to provide a coloring composition which has excellent heat resistance and excellent color migration properties. Another purpose of the present invention is to provide: a cured film which uses the coloring composition; a color filter; a method for producing a color filter; a solid-state imaging element; and an image display device. A coloring composition according to the present invention contains a dye represented by "(D-L1-Y-X-)n-R1-(R2)m" and a curable compound. In the formula, R1 represents a (m + n)-valent linking group; X represents -C(=O)O- or the like; Y represents an alkylene group; L1 represents a single bond or a divalent linking group; D represents a dye structure; R2 represents a monovalent substituent; m represents an integer of 1-13; n represents an integer of 2-14; (m + n) represents an integer of 3-15; L1 (or D in cases where L1 is a single bond) and X are separated from each other by 3 or more carbon atoms by means of Y; and at least one of D, L1, R1, R2, X and Y has an acid group.
