PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery in which a lithium-containing transition metal oxide having a crystal structure belonging to the space group, P6mc is used as a positive electrode active material, which enables the improvement of a positive electrode initial efficiency under a high-temperature environment, and enables the suppression of the reduction in discharge capacity owing to charge/discharge cycle.SOLUTION: A nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery 30 comprises: a positive electrode 2 including a positive electrode active material; a negative electrode 1; and a nonaqueous electrolyte. The positive electrode active material includes a lithium-containing transition metal oxide having a crystal structure belonging to the space group, P6mc, and a compound deposited on the surface of the lithium-containing transition metal oxide. The lithium-containing transition metal oxide has a layer structure including at least Co and Mn as transition metal. The compound includes at least one of a complex oxide and complex fluoride, including two or more elements of Ti, Al, Mg, Na and Li.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
