PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust-gas purification catalyst that can achieve an improvement in oxygen storing and releasing capability as well as that can suppress the increase in the output amount of NOx.SOLUTION: The exhaust gas purification catalyst for purifying automobile exhaust-gas comprises a first purifying member containing a catalyst composition containing copper and cerium, and a second purifying member disposed adjacent to the first purifying member in the exhaust-gas passing direction downstream side with respect to the first purifying member and containing a catalyst composition containing noble metal, and in which the content of copper in the first purifying member is 5 g or less per 1 L of automobile displacement volume, and the content of cerium in the first purifying member is 13 g or more per 1 L of automobile displacement volume.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
