PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glossary management device with which it is possible to reduce a time and effort for collecting the character strings to be registered in a glossary.SOLUTION: The glossary management device comprises: a read unit for reading a document and/or an output unit for outputting a document; a storage unit capable of storing a glossary composed of one or more sets, each set consisting of the item of a character string extracted from the document, the item of the meaning of the character string, and the item representing the registration state of the character string; an acquisition unit for extracting and acquiring a character string from the document when a user reads and/or outputs the document; a setting unit for setting, while leaving the item of the meaning of the character string acquired by the acquisition unit blank, an item representing the registration state of the acquired character string to "meaning unregistered" indicating that meaning is not registered in the glossary yet; a registration unit for registering the character string to the glossary; an extraction unit for extracting, after registration, the character string whose item representing the registration state of the character string is set to "meaning unregistered" from the glossary stored in the storage unit; and a request unit for requesting the registration of the meaning of the extracted character string by the user.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 |
